Black Stars hold final training ahead of Angola clash |

The  Black Stars concluded their final training session on Wednesday at the Baba Yara Stadium in Kumasi ahead of their crucial match against Angola in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers, which is scheduled to kick off at 4:00 PM Ghana time on Thursday, September 5, 2024.

The team had previously held training sessions in Accra and Kumasi, with 22 players participating in the second session on Tuesday. The squad has now grown to 24 players, with Elisha Owusu and Jordan Ayew joining the camp on Wednesday after arriving from Accra.

However, Owusu’s participation in the match against Angola remains uncertain as he will be assessed by the medical team on Thursday morning to determine if he is fit to play.

The four-time African champions are battle-ready for the encounter.

Their opponents, Angola, also held a training session to familiarise themselves with the pitch at the Baba Yara Stadium.

Ghana’s head coach, Otto Addo, has been leading the team through these final preparations, aiming to secure a strong start in the AFCON qualifiers.

Following the match against Angola, the Black Stars will travel to Berkane, Morocco, to face Niger in their second group match on Monday, September 9, 2024.

The team is hopeful of securing two wins in their first two games to enhance their chances of qualifying for the Morocco tournament.
