Four out of nine parliamentary seats have been declared in favour of the NPP following the recollation of results in the following constituencies:
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has secured victories in two of the nine outstanding parliamentary seats following the recollation of results on Saturday, December 21, 2024.
Frank Annoh-Dompreh of the NPP was officially declared the winner of the Nsawam Adoagyiri constituency, while Patrick Boakye Yiadom clinched the Obuasi East seat, both after the Electoral Commission (EC) re-examined the results due to concerns over discrepancies in the initial counts.
Annoh-Dompreh’s victory in Nsawam Adoagyiri was reaffirmed after the EC addressed various irregularities raised by his competitors, particularly from the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
Despite the challenges, Annoh-Dompreh expressed gratitude to the people of Nsawam Adoagyiri for their unwavering support. “I am grateful to the people of Nsawam Adoagyiri for their continued support. I look forward to serving the constituency and working with all stakeholders to continue our development agenda,” he stated.

In the Obuasi East constituency, Patrick Boakye Yiadom narrowly defeated NDC’s Samuel Aboagye by a mere nine votes, securing 18,558 votes to Aboagye’s 18,549. Independent candidate Adjei Owusu received 424 votes.
These declarations follow a directive from the High Court, which had ordered the EC to re-collate results for several constituencies, including Nsawam-Adoagyiri and Ablekuma North, despite the previous announcements of winners.
Both Annoh-Dompreh and Boakye Yiadom are now confirmed to represent their respective constituencies in Parliament when the House reconvenes in January 2025.
As the recollation process continues for the remaining constituencies, political tensions remain high, with various parties keenly monitoring the outcomes.
