2024 Elections: EC provides soft copies of revised voters’ register to political parties and Independent Candidates

The Electoral Commission (EC) met with all political parties, Civil Society Organisations (CSOs), and donor partners on Tuesday, October 15, 2024 under the Inter-Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) framework.

The IPAC meeting was to discuss the re-exhibition of the Provisional Voters Register (PVR), which is taking place from Tuesday, October 15 to Saturday, October 19, 2024.

At the meeting, the EC provided soft copies of the revised provisional register to all political parties and Independent candidates.

This is to allow the parties and candidates to identify any discrepancy in the revised voters’ register and report back to the Commission.

The revised voters’ register which is being exhibited is an improvement of what was initially exhibited in August this year.

This shows that the Commission is transparent and a listening Commission. The Commission thanks the NDC for raising issues with the PVR, and this also shows that the Commission is committed to transparency”, the EC said.

Voters can check their details via the short code *711*51# or visit the EC’s website to verify their details.

The EC also urged the public to report any identified discrepancy in their details to the district offices of the Commission for correction.

The EC says corrections will not be allowed after the re-exhibition exercise.

“Once the Re-Exhibition Exercise ends on Saturday, 19th October, voters will still be able to check their details online but cannot request for correction of their details,” the Commission stated.

The EC has also provided the list of Polling Stations to the Political Parties. There are 40,647 Polling Stations and 328 Special Voters.
