Foreign Affairs Ministry warns against presenting forged or false documents for visas

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Regional Integration has cautioned the general public against presenting forged documents for visas as such action flouts the law.

The Ministry said in a statement that its attention has been drawn to the fact that some Ghanaian applicants knowingly or unknowingly present forged or false documents to be authenticated and forwarded for the processing of visa applications.

It must be noted that the presentation of forged or fake documents is punishable under sections 158, 159, 166 and 169 of the Criminal Offences Act 1960 (Act 29) accordingly.

“The general public should kindly note that henceforth applicants who present forged documents would be handed over to the police and prosecuted accordingly. Members of the public are hereby to note and comply,” the statement said.
