A Deputy Youth Organiser of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) Osman Ayariga has renewed calls for Ghanaians to vote against the governing NPP on grounds of bad governance.
The private legal practitioner is of the view that Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia who is the Presidential Candidate for the NPP has failed the masses and has no business to demand votes from Ghanaians to continue to stay in office.
Ayariga argued that although President Akufo-Addo touted the economic management prowess of Bawumia but both have underperformed, plunging the economy into an abyss.
Speaking on Dwaboase programme on TV XYZ, Ayariga stated that Bawumia has been dishonest to Ghanaians despite collapsing the economy with his bad policies.
Currently, he said numerous surveys have shown that Ghanaians have lost confidence in the government due the hardship that has been visited on the people, with hundreds of thousands of Ghanaians pushed below the poverty line.
To him, voting for Bawumia will not only be a third term for President Akufo-Addo but a ticket to push more Ghanaians into more poverty.
He explained that Bawumia had the opportunity to fix the country’s economy post COVID-19 era but kept on ignoring good counsel on how to fix the finances of the country.
“Bawumia has no clue how to fix the economy,” he said while pointing to high taxes that are collapsing businesses.
According to Mr Ayariga, NDC flag bearer, former president John Mahama, is committed to reversing Ghana’s economic challenges and placing youth empowerment at the core of his strategy.
He stressed that by addressing key issues like high inflation and unemployment, Mahama will set a solid foundation for young people to start their own businesses and create jobs for others.
