Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare has urged fans to remain optimistic about the club’s chances of winning the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League despite their recent setback.
The Phobians suffered a narrow 1-0 loss to arch-rivals Asante Kotoko last Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium, marking their third consecutive defeat to the Porcupine Warriors.
Speaking from the Black Galaxies camp, Asare admitted the loss was tough to take but assured fans that the team is determined to bounce back stronger.
“The supporters shouldn’t give up. In the second round, things will improve for Hearts of Oak. We will also win the return leg against Asante Kotoko at the Accra Sports Stadium,” Asare said.
The defeat places Hearts of Oak in 7th position on the Ghana Premier League table with 19 points.
Their next challenge comes against Berekum Chelsea on Friday, December 20, 2024, as they look to reignite their title aspirations.
