The National Election Security Task Force has assured the electoral commission of maximum security at the re-collation centres.
Head of public affairs directorate, at the Ghana Police Service, ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi alluded that the decision was taken after the electoral commission has informed the TaskForce of their preparedness to proceed with the outstanding coalitions and requested the task force to provide the needed security.
ACP Grace Ansah-Akrofi urged the political parties to refrain from inciting supporters to mass up at the collation centres to disrupt the process.
According to her,the electoral commission after an encounter with NESTF reminded them that during the collation, only individuals accredited by EC should be allowed access to the collation centres.
She opined that per the details given to them by EC,there would be a joint police and military deployment for the exercise to ensure that EC officials assigned for the re-collation process will have the courage to discharge their duties unequivocally.
