Executive Director of the Africa Centre for Energy Policy (ACEP), Benjamin Boakye has said while Ghanaians are expected to support the appointees of President John Dramani Mahama, it is equally important to keep an eye on what they do in office.
Mr Boakye made this point after telling the appointees that much is expected of them while they take office.
Reacting to a post on his X page regarding the vetting of Dr Cassiel Ato Forson (Finance Minister-designate) John Jinapor (Energy Minister-Designate) and Dr Dominic Ayine (Attorney-General nominee), he said “Congratulations, To whom much is given, much is expected— the destiny of Ghana is entrusted into the hands of these 3. All have to help but we have to also monitor what they do in the office… very important. 1. Fiscal recklessness 2. Dreaded energy sector financial crisis 3. The promised ORAL”
These three appointees have already been vetted by the appointment committee of Parliament, pending their approval by the house and the subsequent not swearing-in by the president.
Congratulations 🎉
