Interior Minister-designate, Muntaka Mubarak has outlined his vision to deal with unprofessional conducts among police officers in the country.
Appearing before the Appointments Committee on Friday, January 24, 2025, the Asawase MP lamented the lack of professionalism among officers in the country, stating that unscrupulous behaviour such as police taking bribes from drivers and motorists must not be condoned.
The nominee suggested that under his leadership, officers will be mandated to use body cameras at all times while on duty to increase high professionalism among officers.
“The only way to deal with this in my view is to have the body cameras on and insist and ensure that everybody adheres to it.
“I will demand that the professionalism standard that they have set for themselves, they will hold themselves to it,” he noted.
The Interior minister-designate is confident that this approach will minimize unprofessionalism among police officers
Muntaka assured Ghanaians of internal security, safety and peace in the country when given the nod.
