Dr. Shafic Suleman has been appointed as the Executive Secretary of the Public Utilities and Regulatory Commission (PURC).
A distinguished Senior Lecturer at the Institute for Oil and Gas Studies, University of Cape Coast, Ghana, Dr. Suleman brings a wealth of expertise in energy and sustainability, petroleum economics, energy policy, law, climate change, and risk management.
Dr. Suleman has an extensive background in teaching, research, and consultancy services within the energy sector. He earned his PhD in Energy and Sustainability from De Montfort University in Leicester, UK, and is a certified Energy Risk Professional (ERP) through the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP-USA).
Additionally, he holds an MSc in Energy Management from Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen, UK, a BA in Geography from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, and a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the University of Cape Coast, Ghana.
With specialized expertise in energy and sustainability, petroleum economics, climate change, and risk management, Dr. Suleman is expected to drive innovation and regulatory excellence in his new role at the PURC.
