Democratic strategist James Carville absolutely obliterated former Vice President Kamala Harris using a football metaphor to illuminate her staggering collapse in the 2024 presidential election.
Carville made the comments during a Friday evening interview with PBS anchor Margaret Hoover.
“If we were playing the Superbowl, we started our seventh-string quarterback. That’s what happened. Okay. You can’t — you can’t address a problem unless you’re honest about a problem,” a furious Carville said. “And none of this was inevitable.”
The former top aide to President Bill Clinton suggested putting Harris at the top of a ticket prevented people from seeing competent Democrats.
“The staggering talent that exists in today’s Democratic Party and people would have seen that, they’d go, ‘I didn’t know they had people like that, that can actually complete a sentence, that actually know how to frame a message, that actually have a sense of accomplishment of doing something,” Carville claimed.
Brutal, and yet every word true.

James Carville Blasts Kamala Harris With Super Bowl Barb
Look, we warned you it was pretty brutal. James Carville isn’t holding anything back in this clip. And the Super Bowl analogy could make even the thickest Democrat voter understand that Kamala Harris was a bad idea.
He continued, noting she added very little to the coalition of Democrat voters, if she didn’t actually detract from it.
“It would have excited people (picking somebody else) and we would have had people from the middle of the country and people on the coast, it would’ve been diverse, it would’ve been — and then when you do that, that’s how people get involved in politics,” he railed.
“We have not had an inspirational presidential candidate since 2012. That’s a problem.”
A couple of things here. One, there is currently no ‘staggering talent’ in the Democrat Party. Their only option at the time was Harris because that’s the only person people could identify. The only other recognizable Democrat on the national stage would have been Michelle Obama, or someone like AOC.
They picked Tim Walz to back her up. Meaning he was their second most popular choice.
Tim. Walz.
Two, Carville as per usual, is full of it. He was so thoroughly convinced that Harris was going to win leading up to the election that he wrote a column for the New York Times titled “Three Reasons I’m Certain Kamala Harris Will Win.”
The alternative is that he wasn’t being truthful. Pick one.

Ripped Her Campaign
This isn’t the first time James Carville took pointed shots at the Kamala Harris campaign. In the weeks after the devastating election loss, he lived up to every part of his “Ragin’ Cajun” nickname in a video critiquing young progressive staffers working the Harris campaign.
He particularly took aim at progressive staffers who threw a temper tantrum when it was suggested the former Veep appear on Joe Rogan’s podcast to make her seem more relatable.
Dem strategist James Carville absolutely obliterates Kamala’s progressive staffers who kept Harris from doing the @joerogan interview: I would tell them, “Not only am I not interested in your f**king opinion, I’m not even gonna call you by your name.”

“The vice president was thinking about going on Joe Rogan’s show, and a lot of the younger progressive staffers pitched a hissy fit. Supposedly, the campaign said that that wasn’t a determinative factor, but they did,” Carville insisted.
“When you put a campaign together and you hire young people to do work, let me tell you exactly what you tell these people — what I would tell ’em,” he continued. “Not only am I not interested in your […] opinion, I’m not even gonna call you by your name.”
“You’re 23 years old. I don’t really give a s**t what you think.”
Impressive, but then when you think about it, it’s pretty clear the new Dem party doesn’t really give a rip what Carville thinks, either.
