Last year, we launched Labari Insights, our data platform to document startups, tech events, and more in a UI friendly data page.
The platform started as a free service where access is open once a user signed up for an account.
Next week, we’ll be implementing a paywall for new users who want to access the data content.
Why Now
- The service we use gives us a limited number of API calls to access the database. As the platform has grown, we reached the limits that were given to us.
- To enable users to continue using the site, we will have to implement a fee to help us pay for more capacity.
- The good news is that users have already signed up will be grandfathered in, meaning they will be given priority access and will not have to pay to access the database.
- New users who sign up will have to pay a small fee when they sign up.
Moving Forward
Some pages, like our tech events page, will be free to access. However, our startup database pages will require payment before access is given.
