The Koforidua High Court has granted an order for substituted service of a writ of summons to Nsawam-Adoagyiri Member of Parliament (MP), Frank Annoh-Dompreh, in connection with an election petition filed by the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
The petitioners are seeking the annulment of the Nsawam-Adoagyiri Constituency election results, which were declared by the Electoral Commission.
They argue that the exclusion of results from certain polling stations negatively impacted the chances of the NDC parliamentary candidate, Selorm Philibert Fummey Amenorpe.
Due to challenges in personally serving MP Annor Dompreh, the court has authorized alternative means of service. The writ will now be served through:
- The Nsawam-Adoagyiri High Court
- The Koforidua High Court
- A community radio station (Fawe FM)
- Five information centers in Nsawam-Adoagyiri
- Three major public notice boards in the area
- The NPP Constituency Office in Nsawam-Adoagyiri
These measures will be in effect for 10 days to ensure the MP is properly notified of the legal action.
The case has been adjourned to March 14, 2025. The court granted the substituted service order because of the constitutional provision that bars personal service on an MP during their parliamentary duties.
This development marks a significant step in the election petition process, as the case moves forward in court.
