Nollywood actor Yul Edochie has once again caused a frenzy on social media with a controversial statement regarding DNA testing.
In an Instagram post on February 21, the actor claimed that any woman who refuses to take a DNA test for her child when requested is “hiding something.”
Edochie’s post read: “Any woman who refuses to do DNA test on her child when it is demanded, is hiding something. Don’t fall for any excuse she gives to you. She is hiding something. A clear conscience fears nothing.”
Yul Edochie’s remarks generated a heated debate, drawing mixed reactions from social media users.
While some concurred with his opinion, others criticised him for making such a comment, identifying the irony of his statement considering the turbulence in his personal life and marriage —particularly his highly publicised divorce from his first wife, May Edochie, and his controversial second marriage.
Yul Edochie’s personal life has been a discussion on social media in recent years. The actor shocked fans in April 2022 when he publicly introduced Judy Austin as his second wife.
The revelation came along with the announcement of the birth of his son with Judy.
May Edochie, who had been married to Yul for over 17 years and shared four children with him, was devastated by the revelation.
She later filed for divorce in 2023, citing emotional distress, betrayal, and public humiliation.
