President John Mahama is on an official visit to the Transitional President of Mali, Army General Assimi GOITA in the Malian Capital, Bamako.
President John Dramani Mahama was warmly received by General Assimi Goita for the “24-hour working and friendship meeting in an atmosphere imprinted with African solemnity and fraternity.”
According to a press release available to 3news, “After the performance of the national anthems of the two countries, the two Heads of State reviewed the troops, before greeting members of the diplomatic and consular body, as well as the Ghanaian community established in Mali.”
The Transitional President and his Ghanaian counterpart, after a brief interview in the halls of the Presidential Pavilion, headed to the Koulouba Palace, where the official program of the visit of the President of Ghana will take place.
Among the itinerary during this bilateral meeting are; a one-on-one between the two Heads of State, followed by an expanded working session with their respective delegations.
“Several topics of common interest will be at the heart of the exchanges, including strengthening bilateral relations, security and economic cooperation, as well as regional issues related to the Confederation of Sahel States (AES),” the press release indicated.
President Mahama was accompanied on the trip by the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa and Minister for Government Communications, Felix Ofosu Kwakye.
