Manchester United will never die – Ruben Amorim

Manchester United coach, Ruben Amorim, says the club will rediscover its lost glory despite the mounting problems plaguing the Red Devils.

United played out a 1-1 stalemate against Arsenal on Sunday in the Premier league, in front of an expectant Old Trafford crowd.

The crowd was visbly frustrated after Amorim’s side, particularly in the first half, ceded possession, absorbed Arsenal’s pressure and tried to hit the visitors on the break.

United’s low block did not please the fans who were vexed from protests held outside Old Trafford against the ownership of the club before kick off.

Reacting to his side’s set up, Amorim said:

“We tried to imagine one way to win the game in this context. I know it’s frustrating as a fan. Sometimes we have to do things that are not popular. In the end, we need the points.

“I think this club will never die, that is clear. You feel it in the streets, not just in the stadium. This is a big business and maybe all the fans around the league feel its harder to go to the game and pay for the tickets. In the Premier League we receive a lot of money and they have to address that, he added.

Amorim, who replaced Ten Hag in November 2024, has struggled for wins, with his side in the bottom half of the table.

The Portuguese, however, assured United fans of better days.

“It’s a difficult situation so we want to give them a lot of effort. In the future we are not going to play like that.”

United face Real Sociedad on Thursday before travelling to Leicester on Sunday.
