The bad blood between the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai constituency chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Asamoah and his Member of Parliament Alfred Obeng Boateng has worsened as the two leaders are currently battling it out at a commercial court in Kumasi.
Kwame Asamoah who doubles as the presiding member of the Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai Municipal Assembly is seeking redress over the payment of over $300,000 being a road contract the MP’s company WNC Mining and Engineering Services Limited secured in April 2022 from the Mensin Mines.
Mr Asamoah claims the lawmaker sub-contracted his company K.A’S Live Company Limited, since Alfred Obeng Boateng’s company did not have the requisite certificate to execute the said contract after winning the bid.
He is therefore claiming over $200,000 from the project sum.
Counsel for the defendant, Obiri Boahen could not appear in court for the first hearing on Thursday.
His excuse was accepted by the presiding judge, Justice Kofi Akowuah who adjourned the case to Tuesday, January 31.
