Former President John Dramani Mahama has said that the nationwide campaign that he embarked on ahead of the presidential and parliamentary primaries of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) afforded him the opportunity to know the challenges in the entire country that he would be facing if he becomes president against.
Mr Mahama noted that there were challenges in the agric sector, cocoa and several others that must be addressed.
During his thanksgiving ceremony at the Ringway Gospel Centre Assemblies of God on Sunday, May 21 following his victory in last week’s presidential primaries of the NDC to contest as presidential candidate for the NDC in 2024 elections, he said “Dr Duffuor withdrew at the last minute when he saw that it was going to be a tsunami but if he hadn’t filed and it was unopposed it would not have compelled us to do the rounds that we did.
“When we did those rounds, I saw our delegates and the excitement and the passion with which they came to the event that we went to.
“I think that that exercise in going around really helped the party because it has shaped the base of the party and prepared the party and made it ready for what we were going to confront in 2024, and so we thank God again that our colleagues participated in the primaries.”
