About Adetola Onayemi
Adetola Onayemi, LLB, LLM (Cambridge), is the CEO of Norebase, a global compliance company that helps businesses operate seamlessly across Africa, Europe, and North America. Norebase automates compliance for regulated businesses and provides Merchant-on-Record services for global operations.
Adetola previously served as Assistant Chief Negotiator for Nigeria and Head of Trade Remedies at the Nigerian Office for Trade Negotiations (NOTN), where he led negotiations for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) Agreement. He also served as Technical Adviser to the Presidency on Industry, Trade, and Investment, significantly improving Nigeria’s Ease of Doing Business ranking.
He co-founded and was General Counsel at Future Africa, a venture fund investing over $10 million in 100+ startups. Recognized with The Future Africa Awards 2019 Prize in Public Service, Adetola is one of Africa’s top technology lawyers, advising over 100 prominent businesses. He is currently advising on Africa’s Digital Trade Protocol.
