Ghana Month, as the month of March is known among citizens, is geared towards celebrating Ghana’s culture and other historic events.
March is Ghana’s month of independence from colonial rule. To help in the projection of the country’s heritage to the world, Akoma 87.9FM, a subsidiary of Media General Group, is geared up again to project Ghana’s culture, including tourism, food, and other unseen histories, this year throughout March.
The station has, for the past years, dedicated Ghana’s independence month, March, to showcasing Ghana’s culture to the world with unlimited exciting and interesting programmes.
This year, the main focus is to celebrate the country’s culture and others who have helped in the maintenance of her independence over the years.
Through this, some activities have been lined up including Asante Speaks, which focuses on rich Asante culture, Akoma 87.9FM charity foundation, food exhibition among others.
Some of our heroes have been chosen and will be honored throughout the month to be able to inform and educate viewers.
As part of the projection, the station has designed a show to inform viewers about Ghanaian beliefs, customs, and culture with seasoned resource persons who will answer all questions about selected topics.
All presenters will be styled with Ghana-made designs across all shows on the channel.
The campaign will be climaxed with a food exhibition, but before the exhibition, listeners are urged to celebrate Ghana by contributing to the programme.
Akoma 87.9FM promises to make the independent month exciting and entertaining for all listeners.
