President Akufo-Addo has commissioned the newly built Flowerpot Interchange in Accra.
Speaking at the event on November 18, the President reiterated that his government has built more interchanges and flyovers than any government.
The flyover and motorway interchange project was designed to complement the newly completed underpass and serve as an alternative route for movement by motorists.
The project has undergone several revisions and now features an 802-meter span flyover, starting at the Palace Mall off Spintex Road and ending at Boundary Road in East Legon.
The President while commissioning the project reiterated that he is the master of interchanges among all other presidents.
The Greater Accra Regional Minister, Titus Glover warned against putting up illegal structures around the interchange.
Other features of the flyover include ramps onto the motorway, improvements at the Flowerpot roundabout approaches on Spintex Road, and access through the old tunnel to East Legon.
As the road has been commissioned it is expected to enhance the lives of commuters traveling between the North and South sections of the Accra-Tema Motorway.
It will also alleviate congestion at the Flowerpot intersection along Spintex Road and provide a direct route between Accra East Burma Camp and its surrounding areas and East Legon, and vice versa.
The project however is not fully completed as contractors are still on site working towards the full completion of the entire project.
