    Black Queens to face defending champions in 2024 WAFCON

    Ghana’s Black Queens will compete in Group C of the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON), set to take place in Morocco next year.

    The draw, held on Friday night, has paired Ghana with defending champions South Africa, Tanzania, and Mali, promising a thrilling group stage for the tournament.

    Group A features host nation Morocco alongside Zambia, Senegal, and DR Congo, while Group B includes Nigeria, Algeria, Tunisia, and Botswana.

    For the Black Queens, the draw presents a mix of challenges and opportunities, particularly with a headline clash against South Africa’s formidable Banyana Banyana who won the last edition of the tournament.

    They will also face Mali’s resilient Les Aiglonnes and Tanzania’s spirited Twiga Stars.

    The 2024 WAFCON, which runs from July 5 to July 26, 2025, will see Africa’s best teams battling for continental supremacy, with a chance to qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

    The tournament promises to showcase top-level women’s football and spark excitement across the continent.
