    Communication 101: Chaos in Parliament

What a last couple of weeks we have had on our hands. A period full of baffling political drama and bewildering events that have left an entire nation stunned and speechless.

From the inconsistencies and outright absurdities in the vetting process – where some nominees faced intense scrutiny, while others were let off with ease and a mere pat on their shoulder, to the “silly child” scuffle, to the chaos that unfolded in the chamber of Parliament : the breaking of tables and chairs and the unprecedented suspensions of some Appointments Committee members by the Speaker of Parliament.

Should we, as citizens, brace for even more turmoil?

What explains the rising hostility between the minority and majority side of the political spectrum?

Should we the people not ask for a break from the smarting hurt and anger of the now infamous micro minority and the effusions of team 38.2%.

Would we as critics and observers be allowed to express our grave concerns and opinions about the aggression of the minority members? Are we going to be held in contempt of parliament and hauled before the privileges committee to be purged of contempt through public hearings calculated to shame critics into silence?

Are our liberties guaranteed by the constitution not being overly stretched to ensure gagging of critics and silencing divergent views.

One thing is clear: we the people, will not be silenced. We will continue to express our angst and anger at the disregard for decorum and respect by those who claim to represent us.
