Premier League club Everton is expected to sack manager Frank Lampard on Monday, according to reports.
A year on from Rafael Benitez losing his job, the Toffees will need to find a replacement for the Spaniard’s successor.
Everton is once again struggling this season after narrowly avoiding relegation in 2021-22.
With three wins from their opening 20 matches, Lampard’s side are joint-bottom in the Premier League with only a goal difference separating them and 20th-placed Southampton.
The Toffees were beaten 2-0 by struggling West Ham United on Saturday in what was a massive match.
There was a belief that the loser of the match would sack their manager as a result, with David Moyes also under a great deal of pressure despite the great work he has done in east London over the last three seasons.
It has actually been reported that Everton would try to appoint their former manager, Moyes, should he become available.
It is perhaps a surprise to some that Lampard is still in a job two days after the loss at the London Stadium.
However, “a decision has been taken” and the former Chelsea boss is expected to be relieved of his duties on Monday, according to Sky Sports.
