The Ghana Football Association (GFA) is set to meet Black Stars head coach Otto Addo on November 27, 2024, to discuss his technical report on Ghana’s disastrous 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifying campaign.
The meeting will also evaluate the overall performance of the technical team since Addo’s reappointment earlier this year.
Otto Addo, who signed a three-year contract in March 2024 for a second stint as Black Stars coach, has faced mounting criticism following Ghana’s failure to qualify for AFCON for the first time in two decades.
Addo has managed just two wins after overseeing 10 matches since his return.
While Ghana sits joint-top of Group I in the World Cup qualifiers thanks to two crucial wins over Mali and Central African Republic, a promising sign of recovery, the AFCON campaign was dismal.
The Black Stars failed to win any of their six matches, finishing last in Group F, an outcome that sparked nationwide outrage and calls for Addo’s dismissal.
The GFA dissolved the Black Stars Management Committee following a meeting on Wednesday as part of a restructuring effort following the AFCON debacle.
It announced an upcoming meeting with Addo, which is expected to shape the next steps for the national team as Ghana prepares for its next World Cup qualifiers in March 2025.
