In his address, Mr. Prah emphasized that the GHC1.2 billion investment reflects the government’s commitment to positioning TVET as a cornerstone of Ghana’s industrialization and economic growth.
He outlined several key areas where the funds have been allocated, including infrastructure development, capacity building, curriculum modernization, industry partnerships, and ensuring access and inclusivity for all students.
“The Government of Ghana, under the leadership of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, recognizes that TVET is essential for equipping our youth with the skills they need to thrive in a competitive global economy. This investment is not just financial; it is an investment in our future,” Mr. Prah stated.
He highlighted the ongoing construction and rehabilitation of TVET institutions across the country, which are being equipped with state-of-the-art tools and machinery to provide students with practical, hands-on training.
The modernization of curricula to align with global best practices and the introduction of scholarship programs to make TVET education accessible to all were also noted as significant achievements.
The Director-General also underscored the importance of the partnerships between Ghana and Germany, particularly in the field of technical and vocational education, which have been instrumental in advancing the TVET agenda in the country.
He expressed appreciation for Germany’s continued support, which he said has provided a strong foundation for the success of Ghana’s TVET initiatives.
“The 3rd German Construction Day is not just a celebration of our achievements but also a reaffirmation of our commitment to deepening cooperation with our international partners. Together, we can ensure that TVET serves as the engine that drives Ghana towards industrialization and sustainable development,” he added.
