Hearts of Oak secured a late win against Young Apostles in matchday six of the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League season at Wenchi Sports Stadium on Sunday, October 13 2024.
Coming off a three-game unbeaten run, Hearts of Oak looked to extend their impressive form and secure their first away victory of the season, having failed in their previous two attempts.
Goals from Emmanuel Amankwaah and Hamza Issah, who continues to thrive under Aboubakar Outtara with nine goals proved decisive in securing a hard-fought 2-1 victory over newly-promoted Young Apostles.
Speaking in his post-match interview, Aboubakar Ouattara admitted how tough the match was, but remained cautious despite victory over Young Apostles, emphasizing the need to stay focused.
“Today’s match is a very tough match. I know it can be difficult for us. Young Apostles have a very good side. We tried to maintain them and we got the 3 points. I think it’s our second win. We can’t jubilate too much,” Ouattara said.
