President John Dramani Mahama has reiterated his administration’s commitment to transparency, fairness, and accountability, cautioning his newly sworn-in ministers against complacency.
Addressing six ministerial appointees at their swearing-in ceremony at the Jubilee House on January 22, 2025, President Mahama emphasized the need for integrity and a renewed focus on public trust.
“It cannot be business as usual. We must be transparent and fair in all our dealings,” the President asserted.
He pledged to empower anti-corruption institutions to investigate and hold accountable any appointee found guilty of wrongdoing.
In a move to reinforce transparency, President Mahama also directed all eligible appointees to begin the process of declaring their assets.
“The Chief of Staff will announce the cutoff date by which time all eligible appointees should have deposited their assets declaration forms with the Auditor-General. I wish all of you good luck in your duties, and I pledge to work with you in the future,” he added.
