Kotoko-Eleven Wise round 16 tie put on hold

The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has announced the postponement of Asante Kotoko’s Round 16 MTN FA Cup clash against Eleven Wise. The match was initially scheduled to take place this weekend, but the GFA has decided to postpone.

Asante Kotoko is currently dealing with the aftermath of a tragic incident that occurred during their Week 19 Ghana Premier League match against Nsoatreman where their passionate fan, Francis Frimpong popularly known as Nana Pooley, lost his life in the violence that erupted during the game.

The club has been grappling with the emotional fallout of the incident and has decided not to participate in any football-related activities until justice is served. The GFA has taken this into consideration and has postponed the MTN FA Cup match to a later date.

Although the club’s first team will resume training on Wednesday, February 19, but Porcupine Warriors remain committed to their decision.

The new date for the match will be announced in due course. The GFA has expressed its condolences to the family of the deceased fan and has assured that it is working closely with the club and relevant authorities to ensure that justice is served.
