Mohammed Kudus is on a patchy path, one he has never endured since joining West Ham from Ajax in the summer of 2023.
After a largely successful first season in the Premier League, where the Ghanaian managed to score eight goals and provide six assists, Kudus has struggled considerably in the current campaign.
The £38m man’s woes in front of goal stretches back to December 2024.
In that time, he has come up against, Southampton, Liverpool, Manchester City, Fulham, Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, Chelsea, Brentford, Arsenal, and Leicester City.
His last goal for the Hammers came in their 1-1 draw with Brighton on December 21.
Since then, Mohammed Kudus has fired blanks, no goals or assists, in that period.
His recent run eclipses his previous run of nine from December 2023 to March 30.
Incidentally, Kudus’ drought ended against Newcastle, who West Ham face on Monday night.
A large part of Kudus’ underwhelming performances have been down to managerial changes.
After Julen Lopetegui replaced David Moyes, things did not quite work out, leading to the Spaniard’s exit.
A consistent change in position saw the Ghanaian struggle to flourish.
However, since Graham Potter took over, Kudus has showcased glimpses of rediscovering his touch and class.
With a game against in-form Newcastle on the horizon, Kudus will be hoping to break his goal-scoring drought and help West Ham further pull clear of the relegation zone.
