The management and supporters of Asuom-based Division Two football club, Kwaebibirem United FC, together with Asuom News, have set their sights on pulling resources together from all sources to help the club come back to Division 1 after they suffered a painful relegation after a decision made by GFA in a protest filed by Inter Allies.
In view of this, a committee has been formed to raise funds from supporters of Kwaebibirem United, natives of Kwaebibirem diaspora, natives of Asuom, institutions and co-operate bodies in Kwaebibirem Municipality and football-loving fans. Saturday, April 8, 2023, has been set by the committee for the fundraising ceremony as the club looks to its supporters for help.
In the early hours of Saturday, 8th April, there will be a walk on the principal streets of Asuom together with the playing body. Followed by the main program, that’s fundraising at the newly inaugurated Maame Kwaye Social Center in Asuom at exactly 2PM.
Dignitaries and high-profile personalities expected to grace the occasion include Osabarima Ofosuhene Apenteng II, Asuomhene, Osabarima Baah Ntiku, Mintahene, Osabarima Atta Dwamena II, Akyem Sankubenase Hene, Obaapanin Amoakoa Kwate II, Asuomhemaa, Obaapanin Abena Bema Oforiwaah Gyamkobaa (Hon. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful), Nkosuohemaa of Asuom, all chiefs and queen mothers in Kwaebibirem Municipality, Hon. Carlos Ahenkorah, MP Tema West, Hon. Alexander Kwadwo Agyare MP Kade Constituency, Mr. Maxwell Atuanor Dwirah, Asuom Youth President and former CEO of defunct Kwaebibirem United, Nana Ama McBrown, Actress, Mr Kwasi Boadi (Akrobeto, Actor) and many others.
We urge all of us to come together to help Kwaebibirem gain its feet and get promoted back to Division 1.
