Per numerous reports, German sportswear Adidas has decided to collaborate with Liverpool to sign a multi-year kit deal worth a little over £60m, for the next five years.
After five incredible years with former sponsors Nike, Liverpool believe it is the right time to turn a new chapter.
Liverpool were reportedly earning a fee in the region of £30m in their partnership with Nike.
The enticing prospect of earning twice the amount from Adidas’ deal meant stakeholders of Liverpool had a straightforward decision to make.
Their onfield performances this season have been the X factor.
Despite the wheels coming off at the tail end of last season, winning just a trophy (Carabao Cup) after initially competing strongly on all fronts, Liverpool have been impeccable this term.
Leading the Premier League by 15 points, Liverpool are inching closer to a second league crown and 20th in English top flight history.
With an impending Carabao Cup final and the Premier League all but dusted, Liverpool have been immense.
After it was confirmed on Monday that Liverpool will be returning to Adidas again, a brand that sponsored them from 1985 to 1996 and from 2006 to 2012, CEO of Adidas had a few words to share:
“We are extremely excited that Adidas and Liverpool Football Club are teaming up once again. The club is one of the biggest and most iconic names in world football with a huge fan base. The kits worn during previous partnerships are some of the greatest ever created. We are honoured to once again provide the players with cutting-edge technology to perform at the highest level and are looking forward to creating more classics for the fans.”
The move places the Reds amongst the top earning Premier League clubs, Arsenal, Manchester City, Chelsea and Manchester United.
Effective August 1, 2025, Liverpool will officially have the three stripe parallel Adidas lines back on their kits.
