Former President John Dramani Mahama will be Number 1 on the ballot of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Saturday, May 13, when it goes to the polls to elect its 2024 Presidential Candidate.
The balloting for the positions was conducted on Wednesday, March 29 after completion of the vetting of all aspirants.
One, Ernest Kwaku Kobeah, has withdrawn from the race to throw his support for presumptive candidate John Dramani Mahama.
Mr Mahama’s appointee, Kojo Bonsu, who served as Chief Executive of the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA), will be Number 2 on the ballot.
Former Central Bank Governor Dr Kwabena Duffuor, who also served as Finance Minister in the government of the NDC between 2009 and 2012, will be Number 3 on the ballot.
Even before the Vetting Committee came out with its report, some of the aspirants have been campaigning.
Former President Mahama has been on a regional tour, taking on the current government. He is currently in the Central Region after a similar tour in the Western Region over the weekend.
Announcing results of the Vetting Committee, Chairman Edward Doe Adjaho said now that the vetting is done and results out, the party will communicate to the Electoral Commission, Ghana (EC) for preparations towards the primaries.
