Michael Blackson to take legal action against Finance Ministry over locked-up Eurobond investment

Popular American comedian and actor of Ghanaian descent, Michael Blackson, has said that he intends to sue the Ministry of Finance for losing his Eurobond investment.

He said that he made the investment with the intention of funding his school with the potential earnings.

However, Michael Blackson has been left with less option to seek funding from a different source after he lost his investment in Ghana’s Eurobond.

He took to X to announce his intention of initiating a legal action.

“I’m seeking legal actions against the finance ministry of Ghana. I have a free school I’m financing on my own, and they took away the potential earnings I was going to use to fund the school. Now I have to figure something else out for those poor kids,” he wrote on October 14.

The comedian last month took to X to rant about how his Eurobond investment locked up.

Blackson had earlier said that he had purchased Eurobonds to run his school at Agona Nsaba (Michael Blackson Academy) but has had challenges with recouping his investment.

According to him, he invested in Eurobonds because he figured that would help pay for the lifespan of the free school he built.

However, he said, “Ghana decided to use our money to pay their debt to China or whoever and leave us hanging.”
