Former General Manager of Nsoatreman FC, Eric Alagidede, has shed light on the circumstances that led to his fallout with his former employers.
Alagidede, who resigned in December 2024 after guiding the team through a successful Ghana FA Cup-winning season, revealed that the dispute was rooted in political tensions.
Before his resignation, Alagidede commented on a promise by then-NPP flagbearer Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to provide buses to Ghana Premier League clubs, a pledge outlined in the party’s 2024 manifesto.
His remarks reportedly did not sit well with Nsoatreman, prompting the club to distance itself from his statements.
Many believe this incident contributed to his decision to step down.
Speaking exclusively to 3FM, Alagidede confirmed the political undertones of the conflict and claimed the club regretted its actions.
“My issue with Nsoatreman was political, and they paid dearly for it because everyone knew the real challenges of Ghana Premier League clubs weren’t buses,. “I suffered the same fate as Anim but stayed on and did my best. As an employee, I was working for a club owned by a politician, and at the time, my comments as General Manager didn’t align with their political interests.”
Alagidede also criticized Young Apostles for distancing themselves from remarks made by Samuel Anim Addo, describing their press release as “very disturbing.”
