He is therefore promising that his next government will ensure at least 30% of appointees are female.

John Mahama commended Parliament for the first passage of the Affirmative Action bill.
He said, with that in mind, the next NDC administration will ensure women are well represented in his next government.
“Why should poverty have a female face in Ghana? The majority of unemployed people in Ghana are women. We want a Ghana where economic empowerment is a right.” he quizzed
