NDC’s appreciation of women and their empowerment not mere rhetoric but a commitment as manifested in the choice of a woman as Vice Presidential candidate” – this summarizes Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress John Dramani Mahama’s pledge when he joined the launch of the NDC Women’s Manifesto at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Scienxe and Technology on Monday 30th September, 2024.
He is therefore promising that his next government will ensure at least 30% of appointees are female.
According to John Mahama women occupy a vital role in society and their expertise must be tapped into
John Mahama commended Parliament for the first passage of the Affirmative Action bill.
He said, with that in mind, the next NDC administration will ensure women are well represented in his next government.
“Why should poverty have a female face in Ghana? The majority of unemployed people in Ghana are women. We want a Ghana where economic empowerment is a right.” he quizzed
