The body of an unidentified man, aged between 25 to 30, was found in a gutter near the SDA Education Unit in Abrewa Nkwanta, Eastern Region.
The New Juaben North Municipal Administrator of National Disaster Management Organization ( NADMO), Darlington Tabi told 3news.com that the victim appeared to have sustained multiple bruises and cuts, suggesting the possibility of a brutal lynching when he was found by NADMO officials on the evening of Wednesday, January 22, 2025, at 9:20 PM.
He explained that the exact cause of death remains unknown.
“It is likely that the lynching occurred elsewhere before the body was dumped at the scene, possibly on the previous day or in the early hours of January 22, given the advanced state of decomposition and the strong odor emanating from the body,” Tabi explained.
Officials from NADMO, alongside personnel from the Effiduase Police Command, arrived at the scene to assess the situation and gather more details for their investigation.
The body has been deposited at the St. Joseph Hospital Mortuary for further examination.
The Effiduase Police have initiated an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the man’s death.
