Riky Rick’s Mother Writes A Book In His Honour. Gone but not forgotten, the legacy of Riky Rick aka Boss Zonke lives on through all the contributions he made to the SA Hip hop culture. Not only was he a darling in the urban culture, but the late rapper was also dear to his family mostly his mother.

After mourning the passing away of her son in 2022, Riky Rick‘s mother took to Instagram and announced the completion of her book. Louisa Zondo said that her book is titled Dearest MaRiky: A Mother’s Journey through Grief, Trauma and Healing.

Riky’s mother said that the book documents her grief following the loss of her son. “Telling my story in this book gave me clarity and healing on many fronts. May we never stop telling our stories.” She wrote on.

MaZondo also expressed gratitude for having a chance to tell her story. “I’m filled with gratitude. Finally, I have started to tell the story of my life.” She said.

In a video, Riky’s mother said that writing the book was a big step in her journey of healing following the untimely passing of Boss Zonke. “Greetings, Im Louisa Zondo, my book Dearest MaRiky: A Mother’s Journey through Grief, Trauma and Healing grows out of my experience of grief from the death of my son Rikhado  Riky Rick Makhado by suicide,” she said.

“It’s a many-faceted book a memoir and a book that explores the damage of many years of unresolved trauma. My editor says it’s brave and powerful, I don’t know about that. I know that it is about life, about love, MaRiky and me. Writing this book is a significant mark in my journey of healing, I hope we never ever stop telling our stories.”

Riky Rick committed suicide on February 23, 2022, at the age of 34. He was said to have suffered from depression for a long time.
