Eligibility: This award is open to PhD students and early-career researchers with no more than five years of full-time work experience. Applicants for this award must submit a previously unpublished paper with an explicit focus on policy and international development.
Overview:The UNCTAD Division of Investment and Enterprise (DIAE) and the Academy of International Business (AIB) have jointly established an award for the best young academic research work on international investment and development. Winners of this award receive a certificate of recognition at the AIB Annual Meeting, an invitation to apply for a three-month consultancy contract with UNCTAD’s Division of Investment and Enterprise, and an invitation to publish their award-winning paper in the peer-reviewed UNCTAD journal Transnational Corporations.
Application: Eligible papers should meet the following criteria: (1) Original and innovative research; (2) Topical issues with a discussion of policy implications; (3)Focus on development (i.e. how to ensure that international investment and multinational enterprises contribute to sustainable development). The paper must not have been previously published. Co-authorship is permitted provided all authors meet the stated conditions.
Submission: Award submissions must meet the following criteria: have a word count not exceeding 12,000 words (inclusive of appendices, references, and all material); follow the Transnational Corporations guidelines for contributors; include the author(s)’s CV and an abstract not longer than 300 words.
