An undertaker has met his untimely death after he was accused of killing a mobile money vendor at Dominase, a community in the Mpohor District of the Western Region.
The undertaker, Joseph Ankomah popularly known as Uncle Jay, 30, is said to have confessed to killing the mobile money vendor whose name has been given as Diana Mensah, 23.
Narrating the incident to Nhyiraba Paa Kwesi Simpson, the host of Connect FM’s Omanbapa Morning Show, Assembly member of the area, Abraham Amegavi Amoah indicated that the deceased mobile money vendor had gone missing for over three days and members of the community were eager to find her.
He adds that the lifeless body of the lady was later spotted at the community center and that led to the burning of the undertaker.
“The deceased who is a mobile money vendor in the community had gone missing for the past three days. All efforts to locate her proved unsuccessful. Early morning yesterday, we woke up to see her lifeless body lying around the community center.
Everyone was wondering who dumped her body there. They quickly traced the path to the house of Joseph Ankoma, after a thorough search, they found items that raised suspicions that he was into money rituals. They interrogated him and he confessed to killing the mobile money vendor. I later heard he had been burnt after the confession”, he added.
Images available to Connect FM indicate the suspect was brutally beaten before being burnt to death.
He could be seen in a pool of blood with the remains of the mobile money vendor placed beside him before being set ablaze with car tyres.
According to the assembly member, the Mpohor District Police Command has initiated investigations into the circumstances leading to the incident. He adds that the remains of the victim and the suspect have since been deposited at the morgue.
