    Use digital technology to automate your operations – Communications Minister tells business owners

    The Minister for Communications and Digitalization, Mrs. Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, has entreated entrepreneurs to explore and embrace digitization as it provides numerous benefits and opportunities to grow their trades.

    She has challenged business owners to use digital technology to automate their operations and processes to help expand their productivity and efficiency.

    The Ablekuma West lawmaker who was speaking at the launch of Eskills4Jobs emphasized the importance of economic potentials of a digitally connected society, revealing that the Ministry has invested enormously in advancing digital services.

    The Ministry, according to her, has expanded network access to rural areas through the rural telephony and digital inclusion projects.

    The Ministry is also constructing a digital youth village in the University of Ghana to help students have hands-on practical training on digitalization.

    “We have expanded the national backbone fiber project and laid 3000 kilometers of backbone fiber and 500 kilometers of land mile fiber in the last few years through the government’s network”.

    We are constructing the digital youth village in the University of Ghana to help our young people there have a hands-on practical training environment to experiment the technology theory that they are learning,” the Minister expounded.

    Eskills4Jobs is a component of the Ghana Digital project which aligns with the government of Ghana information and communications technology (ICT) policy.

    It is designed to enhance employability, foster quality job creation and simulate innovation across the digital economy as well as addressing the needs of the marginalized.

    Director General of GI-KACE, Engineer Dr. Collins Yeboah-Afari, said the Eskills4Jobs initiative aims at building a workforce capable of driving Ghana’s Digital transformation as well as bridging the digital skill gap particularly within the marginalized communities.
