George Opare-Addo, Minister-designate for Youth Development and Empowerment has pledged to deal with youth unemployment in the country when given the nod.
Appearing before the Appointments Committee on Wednesday, January 22, 2025, George Opare-Addo highlighted the dangers of youth unemployment, stressing the need for government to initiate policies, train and develop capabilities of Ghanaian youth for a sustainable future.
“We will aggressively tackle unemployment in Ghana,” he said.
The National Youth Organiser of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) further assured that under his administration, funds will be secured through any means possible for youth initiatives.
“We will knock on every door and go where ever we can to seek funding to support the youth,” Opare-Addo added.
He further condemned any acts of violence among the youths in Ghana, stating that such act cannot be condoned.
George Opare-Addo further emphasised the need for government to reorient the minds of Ghanaian youth by creating more opportunities in the agricultural sector to make the sector attractive to the youth.
